Add a Personal Touch To Your Scrapbook Layout with Doodling!

Creating designs freehand is one of the best parts of crafting!  It adds a personal touch to your scrapbook and improves your creativity!

In last week's tip, I showed you how to make borders out of extra trimmed papers. And now, I am going to share with you how to finish that page off by adding a cute doodle design!

Watch the Video Tutorial:

Read the Step-by-Step Guide Below:

Step 1

The materials that you'll need are: your page with border, colored card stock and papers, stapler, and black pens with varied thickness.

Let's start doodling!

Step 2

Start off by drawing border lines using a thicker black pen.

Just go all the way around the edges of the page. No need to be too strict about the straightness of the lines, just draw them down freely!

As for me, I did not join the tips as I like it just the way it is. I also left a gap on the upper right-hand portion for a more carefree look.

Step 3

Then on the lower left side, write the title of your page. I wrote "Everyday Life" as this depicts our actual daily routine.

Step 4

Now for the fun part: add some doodles with some embellishments.

As you can see, I adhered these lovely clouds from my sticker collection.

I just replicated and doodled the sticker images on my white paper so that I could have them all over my page!

Step 6

Get your pop-up dots and stick your cut-outs to your page.

Just a tip: Adhere them in a way that would really complement your embellishments, to create a cool and coherent look!

Step 7

Now, use a thinner pen and go around the page again, creating thinner borders on the edges.

Step 8

To go with the scruffy look of our design, staple some cut out pieces of paper. It can also serve as a great spot to jot down your additional title or sentiment!

Step 9

For the final touch, create dotted and swirling lines using your black pen. I used these lines to connect my stickers and doodles.

You could also add other designs.

As for me, I added some dot designs together with the candid photo of my son wearing his raincoat to resemble the raindrops on that rainy day! 🌧

Step 10

Finally, finish it off with a word that would best describe your photo. Mine would be: 'raining'.
