Add A Brilliant 3D Scrapbook Effect To Your Layout!

Today, I'm going to show you how to create a 3D effect on your fabulous scrapbook layout.

Watch the Video Tutorial:

I made some beautiful watercolor flowers last week and now I will use them as embellishments for my layout. If you haven't seen it yet, check out my blog on How To Create Watercolor Flowers!

I used two other pages of different colors as 2nd and 3rd layers. This is a great opportunity to use your old pages that you've kept from your previous projects!

Read the Step-by-Step Guide Below:

Step 1

To start, I put holes in the middle of the 2nd and 3rd layers using my circular ruler as a guide. You can also use smaller plates or any round objects you have. I made a larger hole to the 3rd layer for added effect.

Step 2

Before stacking the layers, fold up the edges of the 1st and 2nd layers with just a small length. This will help in holding the layers apart.

Step 3

For added depth, I also used pieces of old cardboard. Just cut it into small pieces and stick them onto the page with a double sided tape. Make sure to put tapes on both sides of the cardboard pieces so they stick to the first and second layers at the same time.

Step 4

I added another batch of cardboard pieces onto the 2nd layer and did the same techniques. Time to stack the layers!

Step 5

I wanted to conceal the inner layers so I made the last layer slightly bigger. What an amazing dimensional effect!

Step 6

Now, let's start adding the watercolor flowers! I had so much fun creating these beautiful flowers in this video. I placed the larger flowers at the back and the smaller ones to the front.

Step 7

You can play around with it and find the design that you are looking for. You can even add the cardboard technique for puffing out the flowers. But be mindful about the thickness, we don't want it too thick for the sleeve of your photo album.

Step 8

Once you're happy with the positioning of the flowers, use a sticky tape to lock them in!

The only thing missing is your photograph. I decided to use it for my black and white photo. Look at how it goes so well with so many colors!
